The Lodge and Cottages offer excellent accommodation situated at the top of the Otago Central Rail Trail. This is a very popular stop on the Rail Trail. The old farm homestead is the perfect place to stay for groups and families.  Along with the 14 Ensuited units, our new Miners huts offer ideal basic accommodation.

To add to the relaxing atmosphere, The Lodge and Cottages are situated on their own 9 hole golf course.

The Lodge and Cottages at Wedderburn are your first choice for accommodation on the Rail Trail, or just for a relaxing country break.

Wedderburn Tavern

Wedderburn Tavern (built in 1885) is the highest point on the Otago Central Rail Trail.

Relax in the garden bar, take in the views and sample some excellent Central Otago wines or an ice cold beer. Have a game of golf or try your hand at Petanque.
Freedom Camping available.

Facilities:

  • Rooms inside Tavern $55 per person including a continental breakfast, tea & coffee.
  • 2 Mud brick rooms sleep 2 per room, $45 per person including a continental breakfast, tea & coffee
  • We dont make people share.

Mt Ida Farmstay

Mt Ida Farmstay (circa 1920s) is situated right on the highest point of the Central Otago Rail Trail with a downward glide to either Wedderburn (3km) or Oturehua (8km).

This lovingly maintained farmhouse offers quality self-contained Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a tranquil, cosy setting. An added bonus if the secluded outdoor spa pool.

For those not wishing to self-cater in the modern country kitchen, hosts Greg and Tina go the extra mile by providing a courtesy vehicle for dining at 2 local taverns.

Little Rough Ridge Cottage B&B

A warm and cosy two bedroom mountain cottage with excellent  amenities including solar hot water and a great log fire. This house was designed and built in 2007 to provide an uplifting, resource-efficient stay in a private setting.  Situated on a farm block with unlimited views it is also walking distance to the Trail and to Wedderburn tavern. Perfect for families and those wanting to stay longer at the hub of the Otago Rail Trail.

Fully independent, private house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen, woodbox fire, laundry.
Beds can be made up as two doubles, four singles or a  combination.
