Just 15 km form Alexandra on State Highway 85, we offer a self contained unit comprising a queen sized bed with fold-down couch, kitchen facilities and own bathroom.

The unit is separate from our own house with its own private courtyard looking out over bird aviaries containing golden pheasants, quail, partridge and ring necked pheasant. We also have free ranging pheasants around the house and garden.

  • Tariff: $95 double (includes continental breakfast which is delivered to your room the night before). Extra people $10 each. Sleeps up to 4 people.
  • Courtesy transport to Chatto Creek Tavern (2 minutes drive).

Chatto Creek Tavern provides cooked breakfast, lunches and dinners in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Menus are available in our unit.

Rockdale Farm


Rockdale was built as a large, comfortable sheep station homestead in the early 1900's and is situated mid way between Chatto Creek and Omakau on the steepest part of the Rail Trail at the top of the hill. It is a fairly gentle 1 in 50 gradient from Chatto Creek to Omakau.
 
Rockdale's offers well appointed bedrooms and high quality bed linen. Guests will enjoy the wood-panelled lounge, country-style kitchen and two modern bathrooms, why not enjoy a soak in the genuine claw foot bath.

Guests are welcome to self-cater or dine at the Chatto Creek Tavern which provides free pick up and return to Rockdale.
