Omakau Commercial Hotel 
Located just metres from the Otago Central Rail Trail, the Omakau Commercial Hotel was built in 1898 as Omakau’s first homestead then accommodation house for weary travellers. It is now an ideal stop for the new type of traveller that passes through Omakau –Rail Trailers, Curling Enthusiasts and
visitors to the Central Otago area who can explore the area using the hotel as their base.
The Hotel is available for any of your dining requirements, whether it is Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or that special function - 364 days a year.
Our Chefs pride themselves on their flavour and presentation.
We have a wonderful selection of Central Otago wines and Ales available from our bar to quench your thirst, and/or to compliment your meal.
Located at the back of the Hotel, are the original schist stables which were built around 1880.
You may have already seen them without knowing – this is where Speight’s filmed their “Good On Ya Mate” adverts – the most memorable
being “The Two Tickets to the Ball”. This is available for functions, and is open during the day for you to come and enjoy some of Central’s original history.
The hotel changed ownership in March 2007, and the new owners have commenced an extensive refurbishment programme over the winter months.
The hotel is being lovingly restored back to its former glory, with the original floorboards and architraves being taken back to their original beauty.
We would like our guests to take a step back in time and enjoy the history this lovely old building holds.
We have tried to compliment the hotel with the appropriate antiques and old memorabilia.

Tiger Hill Lodge
 
Tiger Hill Lodge is a new schist lodge on the Rail Trail at Omakau.
It has 4 super king or 8 single rooms with ensuites.

Church Hill Bed and Breakfast 
Church Hill Bed and Breakfast is located 300 north of the Rail Trail. This home has been recently renovated and was originally the Catholic Presbytery. The home is situated right beside the historic Omakau Catholic Church which was built in 1926. Church Hill B&B offers comfortable accommodation in a character home.
Guests have their own lounge and dining room with tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, DVD and stereo.

Millfield Cottage is a brand new, fully self contained, 3 bedroom accommoation for rail trailers or casual visitors.
Long or short term stayers are welcome.
The cottage sleeps up to 6 people comfortably and bed linen is provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern facilities as is the laundry complete with dryer.
The bathroom with shower is warm and has gas heated hot water.
The cottage is located on a 7 acre farmlet near Omakau and the Rail Trail

Cobham cottage is nestled in the quiet, picturesque town of Omakau, and is a restful retreat to recharge and relax after a day cycling, skiing , hiking or sightseeing. The cottage is self contained, fully furnished, well insulated with double-glazing, and has extensive rural views overlooking the rail trail. It is just around the corner from the Omakau Commercial Hotel, ( that has fantastic meals and Central Otago wines), and the Muddy Creek cafe, famous for its pies. There is all so a dairy for all your general requirements, and it is minutes from the rail trail and golf course.
Not far from bike hire if required.
Cobham cottage can sleep up to seven. Two bedrooms, one with a Queen, and the other with a Queen and single bunk above, and a Queen divan bed in lounge, Bikes can be locked up in the shed provided.
There is also plenty of off street parking for camper van or boat, as well as permanent parking for two cars.
