Warm comfortable heritage accommodation at affordable prices.
Enjoy the ambience of a historical homestead with spectacular views over the Maniototo  plain & surrounding mountain ranges.
Peter's Farm Lodge was built in 1882 of mud brick and volcanic rock. It is situated above Waipiata town ship and the Taieri River.This heritage building has been restored to the  glory days of the early pioneering farmers. Soak up the historic atmosphere with many of the Lodge's original features, like the warm glow of the H.E SHACKLOCK ORION coal range in the living room.  All the  fire places still remain in the 4 bedrooms and the formal lounge which also has original wall paper. The six inch native flooring timber throughout the lodge is also a featurea and let's not forget the original meat safe in the kitchen.

Facilities:
Comfortable sleepy head beds, quality bedding, electric blanckets and a good heater are provided in each bed room.
Laundry - washing machine, dryer and outside clothes line
Full kitchen facilities available for guest use plus 2 lounges

Free kayaks, gold pans and fishing rods are available for our guests who want to explore the Taieri River which runs through the farm
Free pick up and drop off from Waipiata for guests and bikes

Located 4km's from Waipiata and just 500 meters from Peter's Farm Lodge

Tregonninng cottage was built in 1880 of mad brick and schist. This quaint cottage still stands strong today with remaining features like the original H.E SHACKLOCK ORION No.1 coal range and the 5 foot 8 inches doors which lead to the three bed rooms. After recent interior renovations it now offers very comfortable accommodation that includes a proper country -size kitchen and bathroom. When you have finished a day on the Rail Trail the lounge is just the place to relax, and should temperstures drop there's a new Metro log fire to keep guests cozy over the four seasons.

1 X queen room - 1 queen bed

2 X twin rooms - 2 single beds

Comfortable sleepy head beds, quality bedding, electric blanckets, a good heater are provided in each room

Lounge -New settee's , a Metro Log Fire and Free to view TV

This cottage is in the heart of substantial sheep & beef farm and can be block booked for groups.

Aptly named after the prolific native grasses that dominate the Central Otago Landscape, Tussock Lodge was built in 2009 to cater for the growing demand for quality accommodation along the world famous Otago Central Rail Trail. Its' unique design allows guests to either reserve the entire lodge for a luxurious vacation home, or book a single en suite bedroom with private keyed entrances and access to the gourmet kitchen and entertainment areas.

We are located a short walk from the historic township of Waipiata, in the seclusion of Central Otago. We can tailor to any requests to suit to your personal or travel needs. Our parking area is more than able to accommodate the largest vehicles. Be sure to bring your binoculars or telescope: far away from any city lights the night sky is spectacular!!

During your stay you may wish to fish, tramp, raft or kayak the nearby Taieri River. If you require our services to book equipment please just ask. The Taieri river is a short walk away. Wildlife abounds in this secluded area and it’s easy to spot hawks, pigs, deer, goats, rabbits, skinks, geckos, owls and the rare blue herons. Local fish include plentiful trout and eels.

Tussock Lodge is situated 150 metres from the Otago Rail Trail and 500 metres from the local hotel, which serves great country meals with a relaxing friendly atmosphere.

Your enjoyment during your stay with us is paramount. We will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable.
