Hawkdun Rise Vineyard & Accommodation 
We are a small Boutique Lodge set in a tranquil setting overlooking our vineyard. Included in our tariff, you receive a glass of our own Pinot Noir, also a sumptuous breakfast.
After a day out you can sit back and enjoy our home theatre with over 100 DVD titles, or sit back in our spa, which will rejuvenate you for your next outing.
Dinners can be arranged, also picnic lunches and dinners for those long summer evenings.

Hinton Estate Vineyard 
Our family Vineyard is on located Earnscleugh Road where the we have been growing fruit for over 100 years.
The winery, where Howie Hinton makes award winning wines, and tasting room are situated at 19 Chicago Street – right on the Rail Trail.
Pop in on your way past to taste the wines, sip a coffee and, in summer, buy some delicious summer fruit straight from our orchard. We would love to see you.

Dry Gully Vineyard
 
Dry Gully Vineyard in Earnscleugh Road is owned by Bill and Sybilla Moffitt and their three sons.
The Dry Gully Vineyard is complemented by four other vineyard sites owned by the sons
offering different soil types and aspects planted in a wide range of Pinot Noir clones
which attributes to the consistent quality of our wines.
Organic fertilisers and vine sprays are used and wild flower cover crops planted every other year to
encourage more beneficial nsects into the vineyards. The vines are entirely hand-tended and grown as
organically as possible.
Visitors to Dry Gully are welcomed with warm hospitality and hosted in the 150 year
old converted tasting room which used to be stables. The peaceful surrounding and
relaxed atmosphere of Dry Gully and the delicious wines make a must stop on your
travels to Alexandra.
The property belonging to the Moffitts is literally an island in a sea of gold dredge
tailings. Around them on all sides are the piles of gravel and deep hollows so typical
of dredged riverbank. The way in which that tiny piece of virgin soil remained so is
a long and engrossing tale.

DRUMSARA WINES VINEYARD 
274 Hillview Road, Alexandra
This family owned vineyard is set on the glacial outwash gravel plateau overlooking Alexandra & Clyde. From the rail trail on the northern outskirts of Alexandra follow the “Hillview Road” signs to the Drumsara vineyard. Here you will see the vines, be able to soak in the peace and tranquility of this special place and appreciate we are truly born of glacial ice and rock. We have a growing reputation for outstanding pinot’s and you will find our wines at great hospitality stops all along the rail trail.
If it is a tasting you deserve then bring your cycle to a halt on the trail, a km north of the “Airport Road” intersection at Orchard Garden Café & Tasting Centre. Wendy, Dale & the team provide a stunning tasting tray of local wines and the Drumsara Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are featured.

CENTRAL WINE TOURS 
To come to Central Otago for the Rail Trail and not set aside a good few hours for a guided tour of wineries in the Alexandra-Eamscleugh-Cromwell Basin areas is rather like going to Egypt and not visiting the pyramids or going to New York and not taking King Kong's view of the city from the top of the Empire State Building.
For those who perhaps prefer hops over grapes, host Connie Crosbie offers a guided tour of seven iconic Central Otago pubs including the Chatto Creek Tavern, St Bathans Hotel, Wedderburn Tavern and Blacks Hotel at Ophir.
Connie has ready-made day tours of vineyards and pubs but is happy to personalise experiences to fit in with time schedules. Lunch is included.
Connie is also happy to talk about incorporating a wine tour into delivering or picking up from Queenstown airport or accommodation.
The Central Wine Tours mini-bus can transport up to 11 passengers with their luggage.
